Wadham Park to sell Nagambie farm
Feb 22 2010
The Wadham Park Group has announced its intention to sell one of its Victorian farms, Wadham Park Nagambie.
The beautifully-appointed farm, perfectly situated on the historic Northwood Road, near Seymour, has been part of the Wadham Park operation since it was purchased 2007. The 189-hectare (468-acre) farm was previously known as Newlands Thoroughbreds.
Wadham Park Nagambie has been used primarily as a rearing and pre-training property. Improvements have been added to the already outstanding infrastructure, including a 1400m-sand training track.
Wadham Park Nagambie has five houses, two spacious American-style barns for 36 horses, 12-horse walker, a stallion barn (three stalls) and full-appointed breeding shed and boasts a considerable water frontage to the Goulburn River.
This magnificent, showcase property shares a boundary with Darley Northwood Park in the heart of the rich north-east Victorian wine and thoroughbred region. Also on Northwood Road is Swettenham Stud.
The farm is perfectly placed to return to its origins as a stallion and broodmare farm in one of the prime thoroughbred-breeding areas of Australia.
Wadham Park’s Dale Sutton said proceeds of the sale would be redirected into Wadham Park’s other facilities. “We will be looking to consolidate back into our two properties, the Wadham Park training centre and the Woodside Park stud farm, at Tylden (in central Victoria),” Sutton said.
Wadham Park Nagambie is being sold by Melbourne agents Pat Rice & Hawkins.
