Promising future for filly
Jul 13 2010
Wadham Park’s Starred For Life gave an indication of a promising future on the track with a creditable third in the Rivette Handicap (1600m), on a slow track at Flemington on July 10.
Starred For Life, by Encosta De Lago, drew wide and did all the work pushing forward to find the lead at the 800m before holding on gamely behind the smart Dorsodura and Mont Fleuri.
At her previous two outings, the filly had finished strongly for placings at Bendigo and Sale. Last time in she won on a firm track at Ballarat, so it is likely that her form will improve once the tracks improve.
Wadham Park last week produced the emerging Flash O’Brilliance (by Royal Academy (USA)) to win at Bendigo (1600m) – his first win from five starts after three good placings.
Flash O’Brilliance, ridden by Craig Robertson, charged home from ninth on the turn at his first try beyond 1400m. He looks to be a horse with a bright future as a stayer.
