Foreplay remains hot property

Foreplay has confirmed his place as one of Australia's best young stallions. At the end of last season, Foreplay had 47.1% winners/runners placing him third on the list behind second-season stallions Jet Spur's 49.3% and Snitzel's 48.6%, but ahead of Stratum (40.1%), Starcraft (28%) and Domesday (37.5%). All these stallions command a significant higher fee than Foreplay's 2011 fee of $11,000 (inc. GST).

Woodside Park was active buying at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sales, securing four impressive yearlings.

Bloodstock manager Dean Harvey said the four youngsters will be offered in a package to clients outside the stable.

“We are putting together a partnership to race the yearlings. It will be at cost, so it is a very good opportunity to race four Easter yearlings, two colts and two fillies, by three of our best stallions, Fastnet Rock, Anabaa and Exceed And Excel,” Harvey said.

“This is an excellent chance to involved in racing at the highest level with an in-form stable that uses the most outstanding training facilities.”

The total outlay on the four yearlings was $250,000.

The four youngsters are:

Lot 22 (pictured): Bay colt, by Anabaa (USA) from Lolita Star (by Jeune (GB)) – $80,000. Pedigree

Lot 242: Bay or Brown filly, by Exceed And Excel from Vestabaa (by Anabaa (USA)) – $30,000 Pedigree

Lot 424: Bay filly, by Fastnet Rock from Flashed (by Fuji Kiseki (JPN)) – $110,000. Pedigree

Lot 612: Bay colt, by Exceed And Excel from Sunset Stripper (by Volksraad (USA)) – $30,000. Pedigree
