Sutton passes 50

Wadham Park's trainer Dale Sutton trained his 50th winner for the season when Rock Of Tara ploughed through the mud to win at Bendigo on July 4. When the brilliant Save A Penny led throughout to beat a strong field at Moonee Valley on July 24, Sutton's Victorian season tally stood at 53 winners. Sutton sits 15th on the Victorian Trainers' Premiership with a good strike rate of 13.31 per cent. Read the full premiership table.

Econsul colt goes to Hancox

One of Australia’s leading syndicators, and renowned judges of yearlings, Shelley Hancox, purchased the Econsul-Paris Sweep colt (pictured) at Thursday’s Inglis Melbourne Yearling Sale.

Hancox was the winning bidder for the colt at $26,000, and immediately Woodside Park’s bloodstock manager Dean Harvey agreed that Woodside Park will retain 25% in the impressive bay colt. To purchase a share in this colt please visit Hancox Bloodstock’s website.

In other news from the sale, Wayne Hawkes paid $30,000 for a powerful son of Econsul and Evangeline.
